Purported Front Panel of the iPad 5

Yesterday we published an alleged photo of the iPad 5 with Touch ID by C Tech. Today, Sonny Dickson has managed to get his hands on high quality photos of the front panel of Apple’s next-generation 9.7-inch iPad.

The images do not provide us with much information. However, Dickson suggests that the display in the fifth generation iPad will likely use Sharp’s IGZO technology making it thinner, lighter and more power efficient. It will also eliminate the need to have a dual LED backlight, which resulted in the fourth generation iPad being thicker than its predecessor.

Apple has officially sent out invites to a special event on October 22. The company is widely expected to unveil their next generation iPads.
