According to a new report from Digitimes, Apple’s rumored 12.9-inch iPad will be the first device to feature an operating system that integrates Mac OS and iOS, according to rumors in the upstream supply chain.
Apple is said to have two 12.9-inch tablet prototypes in development: one is a 2-in-1 device and the other is a regular tablet. However, the company is still to decide whether to release both devices to the market or just one, the report explains.
This report is pretty vague on what features Apple is likely to take from OS X and integrate it into iOS. However, previous reports from 9 to 5 mac suggest that a new multitasking split -screen, TextEditor and the Preview apps on OS X are being tested by Apple for iOS.
The 12.9-inch iPad expected to enter mass production in early 2015.
