Surprise: iPhone 5c Sales Short of Original Expectation In Taiwan Too

According to a new report from Digitimes, the iPhone 5c is not selling well in Taiwan. A previous report suggests that iPhone 5c accounts for less than 2% of all active iOS devices in China.

Taiwan mobile carriers – Chunghwa Telecom (CHT), Taiwan Mobile (TWM) and Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET) have sold an estimated total of 20,000-30,000 iPhone 5Cs since October 25, 2103, the report said.

The poor sale of the device is attributed to its high price.

“The iPhone 5C sales prices are too high, the sources pointed out. Contract-free retail prices are NT$18,900 (US$624) for 16GB iPhone 5C and NT$22,500 for 32GB version,” according to the report.
