Apple Has Reportedly Placed Orders For iPhone 6 Battery

Digitime is reporting that Apple has placed orders for its next generation iPhone battery with Taiwan-based Simplo Technology and China-based Shenzhen Desay Battery Technology. This information was gained via sources within the upstream supply chain, the report said.

Digitimes’ track record isn’t great when it comes to Apple leaks. Nevertheless, they have been known to get a few right.

Interestingly, Dynapack –  the current suppliers of the iPhone 5 and 5c currently has no orders confirmed. The company is reportedly still trying to court Apple for orders along with China-based battery maker Sunwoda, according to the report.

Dynapack is still the battery supplier of the iPhone 5 and will continue to supply batteries until 2015, which should give the company chance to land future orders,” the report said.
