Sky has released an update to their Sky+ HD App . The App is touted as providing users with the following new features:

• REMOTE CONTROL – Swipe to rewind & fast forward, tap to pause / play & change channels
• NEW TV GUIDE – Genre tabs help you navigate quickly & tapping on a channel icon will change the channel on your TV
• IMPROVED NAVIGATION – Now the app is easier, faster & more intuitive to use
• IMPROVED SEARCH – Search for programmes in the TV listings as well as your planner [/box]
Sky reports that, “customers gets even more control over their TV viewing experience with the launch of an update to our pioneering Sky+ app which lets Sky customers transform their iPad into a remote control. With a simple swipe or tap of their fingers on their iPad screen, Sky customers are from today able to use the app to change channels as well as pause, play and rewind TV.”
Sky is planning to release a new update later this summer integrating zeebox second screen functionality in to the app. The report states that, “this will allow Sky customers to follow online reaction to their favourite shows directly through the app via integrated twitter feeds, plus enjoy bonus content specifically created around their favourite Sky shows.”
