MacRumors is reporting that Apple is set to launch their iPhone 6 on Tuesday, October 14th based on information from a source within Apple Retail Store.
“The source notes that a senior Store Leader mentioned October 14th as being an “immense” day for Apple, adding that the whole month of October would be very busy for stores and the company itself,” Richard Padilla writes for MacRumors. “Apple is also said to planning a media event for Tuesday, September 16, coming a month ahead of the device’s launch.”
A month between the announcement and launch date of the iPhone would be a deviation from recent form. Last year Apple announced the iPhone 5c and 5s on September 10th and the devices went on sale on September 20th, ten days later.
Additionally, the report speculates that the launch of the iPhone 6 in October will coincide with the unveiling of other products such as OS X Yosemite, new iPads and new Macs. It is also unclear whether Apple will launch the release of the iPhone 6 in October would include both the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch version.
