After a recent report from the Taiwan Economic Times hinted that the iPad mini will be delayed due to  issues producing the Retina display. A new report from Digitimes indicates that LG is reportedly finding more success with producing the Retina panels.

According to the report, LG is expected to ship 2-3 million iPad mini Retina panel a month in 3Q2013. The next-generation iPad mini is expected to be released in October.

In addition, the report suggests that LG Display will likely ship 2.5-3 million 9.7-inch panels a month for the iPad in 3Q2013. It expected that around 1-2 million of the panels will be for Apple’s fifth-generation iPad, with the rest for previous iPad models, according to the report.

Apple will make the fifth-generation iPad lighter and thinner by using only one light tube in its backlight instead of two to power the 2048 by 1536 resolution display, the report said.
