Amazon Unveils Cloud Drive Service in China

Amazon

According to a new report out of Asia, Amazon has roll their Cloud Drive service in today in China.

Amazon’s personal cloud storage service was launched last year as a competitor to offerings from Apple’s iCloud and similar services from Google and Microsoft. The US-based online retailer Cloud Drive apps are available now for both Windows and Mac platform on the Amazon China website.

“The availability of Amazon’s Cloud Drive in China might suggest that Kindle hardware is a step closer,”  Steven Millward reports for TechinAsia. “Amazon’s Kindle e-bookstore opened in China a few months ago, but readers must view the purchased e-books within the company’s smartphone apps. But with China not getting the Amazon Appstore anytime soon – no love for Indonesia or Singapore either – it’s safe to say that the Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD tablets won’t be going on sale here for a long time.”
