According to a news report by TUAW, it appears Veerizon year over year growth in iPhone activation went unnoticed by many folks on Wall Street.
In its Q2 2013 earnings result, Verizon reported that 7.5 million smartphone were activated in the last quarter of which 3.8 million were iPhone. Hence, the iPhone represents 51 percent of all smartphones activation on Verizon.
However, another important stat, is that the 3.8 million iPhones Verizon activated last quarter easily beats the 2.7 million units it sold during Q2 of 2012. This represents a year over year growth of 40.7 percent.
Wall Street analysts expect Apple to announce a weak quarter in their quarterly earnings report later today. However, do not be too surprise if Apple managed to beat estimates given how well the iPhone has done on Verizon last quarter.
