9to5mac had linked to a never-before seen video of former Apple head of Retail Ron Johnson. The vidoe was produce by Washington Square Films (NYC) and dated 7/7/2011.
According to the report, “the video is a pretty impressive piece of work from director Peter Sillen for something that never aired publicly. Among other interesting tidbits, the video shows store mock-up inside Covent Garden (London) space in 2008 before construction with Apple execs examining design elements.”
Apple filings shows the company is very happy with their success in retail:

To that end, retail store configurations have evolved into various sizes to accommodate market-specific demands. The Company believes providing direct contact with its customers is an effective way to demonstrate the advantages of its products over those of its competitors.
