Apple’s new MacBook has been criticized for having a USB-C book and high price. However, a new report from Digitimes suggests that the new Macboook is expected to be the largest source of growth in the Apple MacBook series throughout 2015.
“The 12-inch MacBook is expected to make up 15-20% of Apple’s overall shipments of MacBook series devices in 2015, according to panel supply chains,” Rebecca Kuo and Alex Wolfgram report. “The device, which is expected to see shipments of around 450,000 in the first quarter of 2015 due to limited production of Retina displays.”
Additionally, LG Display is expected to increase panel shipments and retake its position as the leading provider of MacBook Retina displays following a transition from Samsung Display for the first batch of MacBooks set to be released in April, according to the report.
The new MacBook features a new Force Touch trackpad with Taptic Engine providing haptic feedback, a beautiful 12-inch Retina display and a redesigned the keyboard.
