LG And Others Are Major Suppliers of Panels For Apple While Samsung Is Fighting For Scrapes

While the Cupertino-based company has just announced record breaking profit and sales in the September, its arch rival Samsung is struggling to make as much profit in the smartphone market. Now Digitimes is reporting that Apple is about to pile more pressures on the Korean Electronic giant by sourcing most of their panels from the likes of LG Display, Sharp and JDI.

According to the report, iPhone 6 panel supply will mainly come from LG Display and Sharp while that for iPhone 6 Plus will come from LG and JDI. Panels for the iPad Air 2 panels, mostly come from LG with Samsung Display receiving orders for a limited supply.

Furthermore, display for Apple’s 27-inch iMac with Retina 5K and the Apple Watch, LG is expected to be the sole provider, the report said.
