Here we have purported images of documents giving us unprecedented details about what to expect from the iPhone 5S.
Key specifications from the documents indicate the iPhone 5S will have the following:
- The iPhone 5S will retain its 1136×640 Retina display.
- It will sport a 8-megapixel rear camera. Early rumors suggest that this might be a 12-megapixel camera. Apple can expect some criticism over this. However, the camera should be a lot better that iPhone 5 due to software and Dual-LED flash enhancements.
- An A7 CPU, which should give you more power and at the same time longer battery life.
- The images show a redesigned Home button. The white square that was present on the iPhone Home button form launch, has been removed. This has likely made way for the new fingerprint scanner.
One key omission from the leaked specification documents is the lack of NFC support. It was rumored that Apple may incorporate NFC in its fingerprint scanner. At the end of the day Jonny Evans’ post – Apple’s new iPhones will disappoint, but that’s OK, sums it up very well.
According to Evans:
The new iPhone(s) will be thin, light, elegant and beautiful with every line and every detail fully thought through.
It won’t be enough.
Of course, the authenticity of these images cannot be confirmed. Hence, readers are encouraged to take this with a pinch of salt.
