New high resolution images of the purported iPhone 5S Home button hint at the much rumored fingerprint scanner. According to the report, the sensors and flex cable of the iPhone 5S is different to that of the iPhone 5 Home button. Consequently, the report suggest that the difference could be due to the addition of the rumored biometric fingerprint scanner that has been widely reported.
We recently published an image showing slight changes in the Home button of the next generation iPhone – iPhone 5S. According to the report, the iPhone 5S Home button felt like a brushed material, made with a type of material used and appeared slightly elevated.
At the time we pointed out that the new material could very well be Sapphire, which was first touted by KGI Securities’ Ming-Chi Kuo. Ming-Chi Kuo also suggested that the iPhone 5S Home button will no longer be plastic and concave but actually protrude slightly from the iPhone in a convex manner.
However, there is a caveat to this report. That is, it’s very likely that the images below could be that of the iPhone SC Home button flex cable ribbon as reported by SW-Box.
Here are images of the same cables first published by SW-Box a few days ago:
