Renowned Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo has tweeted today that the Cupertino based technology giant is planning to release the next generation of Apple Watch, Apple Watch Series 8, with sensors to measure body temperature.
According to Kuo, the feature was meant to be in the Apple Watch Series 7, however, the technology was not ready for prime time. Kuo stated that body temperature measurement algorithm failed in the Apple Watch 7 before the device entered into the final stage of production last year.
Kuo believes that the body temperature measurement feature should be ready for the Apple Watch 8 which is due in the 2nd half of this year.

Apple canceled body temperature measurement for Apple Watch 7 because the algorithm failed to qualify before entering EVT stage last year. I believe Apple Watch 8 in 2H22 could take body temperature if the algorithm can meet Apple’s high requirements before mass production.— 郭明錤 (Ming-Chi Kuo) (@mingchikuo) May 1, 2022
