According to a new report from Uswitch (via MacRumors) the new Apple logo opening in the rear shell of the iPhone 6 will light up to notify owners of incoming messages among other things.
Uswitch came to this conclusion by examining the rear shell of the purported next generation iPhone to the iPhone 5s, which has the logo stamped on the rear shell.
Uswitch:
[su_quote]….as you’ll notice from the snap below, this time time the logo is part of a plastic panel that’s inserted in a recessed part of the interior of the rear housing and peeks through the hole.
Tellingly, the plastic part looks to have been made thin enough that light can easily shine through to alert you to updates and other important messages.
The rear panel in the snaps is also notable for featuring a much slicker, shinier finish than earlier prototype versions, which looked far too rough around the edges to be allowed through Apple’s manufacturing partners’ factory gates and onto shop shelves.[/su_quote]
