Pegatron Conducting Internal Investigations of Labor Issues

CLW

According to a new report from Digitimes, Pegatron will be conducting an internal investigation of issues raised in the recent China Labor Watch Report.

The China Labor Watch report has accused Apple and Pegatron of violating China’s labor laws. The violations include – detaining staff’s IDs, providing a poor living environment and long working hours.

According to the report: “Pegatron Technology spokesperson Charles Lin pointed out that the company’s plants in China are professionally run and Pegatron has always followed China’s labor laws and has established its production line based on its clients’ demand over industrial safety and environmental protection. As for the claims of China Labor Watch, Pegatron is already conducting investigations.”

Pegatron CEO Jason Cheng also pointed out that the company has always treated labor-related issues seriously and will conduct thorough investigations over its production lines. If there is any violation over the labor law, the company will take immediate steps to make improvement,” Monica Chen and Joseph Tsai report for Digitimes.
