Many, including yours truly, have been patiently waiting for Apple to upgrade their current Apple TV box since 2013. According to a new report from BuzzFeed the wait might be over this summer.
Writing for BuzzFeed, John Paczkowski has revealed that sources familiar with the company’s plans Informed the publication that a new set-top will be unveiled at its annual World Wide Developers Conference in June along with a long-awaited App Store.
John Paczkowski:
[su_quote] ….the new Apple TV box itself, expect an updated design and new innards: the company’s latest A8 system-on-chip — or a variant of it: a dramatic increase in on-board storage to accommodate app — well beyond the 8GB in the current device; and an improved operating system that will support Siri voice control of Apple TV, and enable it remotely for a selection of Homekit-enabled home automation devices, as earlier reports have suggested. Presumably it will also feature a new remote.[/su_quote]
This report comes on the heel of a Wall Street Journal article which reveals that Apple is in talks with programmers to offer a slimmed-down bundle of TV networks this fall.
