Bloomberg recently reported that the iPhone 5S may be delayed due to a change in screen size to 4.3-inchRetina display. Today, we received confirmation via Weibo microblogger – @C Tech (who has been very reliable in the past) that Apple has started production of the 4.3-inch iPhone.
@C Tech reported that he was unable to confirm whether the production of the 4.3-inch iPhone was mass production or just a pilot run. It was also not clear if this is the iPhone 5S or the iPhone 6 which could be released in 2014. It’s possible that Apple is piloting a few prototypes of the next -generation iPhone with more than one screen dimensions.
It is also reported that the iPhone 5S or iPhone 6 will come in more colors, including silver and possibly gold.
In addition to the above revelation, @C Tech is also reporting that low cost iPhone will be called “iPhone lite” and feature a 4-inch screen, 1G RAM and polycarbonate body shell. The shell will reportedly go through a metal coating process giving it a metallic texture.
